Do I have to commit to a long-term agreement?
No. There is no long-term commitment. There is no set up or monthly maintenance fees.  top

How do I sign up for Slingshot Fax Broadcasting service?
It’s easy.
Simply speak with a Slingshot communications specialist to set up your account and we will send you a user name and password giving you access to our Web Enabled Broadcast System (WEBS). Upload your document and distribution list using WEBS and you are ready to send your fax broadcast.  top

What if a fax number is busy?
We utilize a dynamic retry system to maximize your successful fax deliveries. Our system will retry any busy number or failed attempt at least 3 times.  top

Am I charged for failures or retries?
No. You are charged for completed faxes only.
However, our dynamic retry system will automatically resend your faxes to any number that did not complete to increase the effectiveness of your broadcast.  top

Can my document be personalized?
Yes. We provide Header and Banner and cover page options so that you can personalize your document. Personalizing your communications will maximize the effectiveness of your document. There is no additional charge to personalize your fax communication.  top

Can I send my broadcast online?
Yes. Simply log into our easy to use Web Enabled Broadcast System (WEBS) upload your lists (s) and document (s) and provide the specific instructions for your broadcast. No special software is needed.  top

Can I send a cover page?
Yes, you can further personalize your document by using a customized cover page with your broadcast.  top

Do I need any additional hardware or software to use Slingshot’s web-based fax system?
No. All you need is internet access. There is no need for any additional software or hardware.  top

What file formats are supported for my Fax document an/or distribution list?
Fax document – Microsoft Word, Excel, or Publisher, or Adobe PDF, TIFF
Fax list – Microsoft Excel, Comma separated (.csv), or dbase (.dbf) 

These are the most commonly used file formats, however Slingshot is able to support additional formats. Please contact us at techsupport@slingshot-tech.com to inquire about additionally supported file formats.  top

How will I know when my fax broadcast is completed?
Once your fax broadcast is complete, you will automatically receive a summary completion report via email. Your detailed broadcast reports are available online through our Web Enabled Broadcast Service (WEBS).  top

How do I manage and maintain my lists or database?
With our Web Enabled Broadcast System you have 24 hour access to your distribution list(s). WEBS allows you to add, delete, edit and manage your distribution list on-line.  top

What are your payment options?
Visa, Mastercard, and AmericanExpress. We will also accommodate invoice customers once a credit evaluation has been submitted and approved.  top

Does Slingshot provide any lists or databases?
No. Please be advised that Slingshot does not provide any document design services and/or facsimile number lists. For additional information and compliance requirements for fax broadcasting, please go to our Regulatory Page.  top

What are the legal issues surrounding fax broadcasting?
The Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”) and many states have established regulations that prohibit companies from sending facsimile advertisements absent an established business relationship with the facsimile recipient. How do I sign up for Slingshot Email Broadcasting service?
It’s easy.
Simply speak with a Slingshot communications specialist to set up your account and we will send you a user name and password giving you access to our Web Enabled Broadcast System (WEBS). Upload your email and/or documents and distribution lists into WEBS and you are ready to send your email campaign.  top

Does your web based interface support HTML messages?
Yes. Our web based automated system can handle both text and HTML messages.  top

Can I schedule my broadcast to go out anytime?
Yes. Our Web Enabled Broadcast System (WEBS) enables you to send your email broadcast out immediately or you can schedule a specific date and time for your email communication to be sent.  top

What information do I need to provide for my email broadcasting campaign?
You will need to upload your document for broadcasting as well as your distribution list. In addition, for your email campaign you will need to provide the email subject line, the “To” and “From” field information and the “Reply To” email address for your campaign.  top

Is your web-based automated system easy to use?
The Web Enabled Broadcast System (WEBS) is straight forward and user friendly. With easy to understand icons and directions, you can quickly upload your email and/or fax communications and schedule your broadcast.  top

Does Slingshot attach any advertising to my email message?
No. Slingshot will NOT attach advertising about our company. The message you upload is the message that your client will receive. Outsourcing your email communications to Slingshot is transparent to your customers.  top

Does Slingshot provide any lists or databases?
No. Please be advised that Slingshot does not provide any email design services and/or email address lists. For additional information and compliance requirements for email broadcasting, please go to our Regulatory page.  top

Once I sign up, can I start right away?
Yes. Just set up your account, receive your username and password, and log onto our web based system and start communicating with your customers.  top

How will I know when my email campaign has reached a subscriber?
Once your email broadcast is complete, you will automatically receive a summary completion report via email. Your detailed broadcast reports are available online through our easy to use Web Enabled Broadcast System (WEBS).  top

Also, we highly recommend that you include your own email address in your distribution list so that you will receive your message in your own email box.  top

Is an unsubscribe request acknowledged?
Yes. Once the “opt out” or unsubscribe link is clicked the user will see an online acknowledgement of the unsubscribe request.  top

Will I be able to preview my email message before it is sent?
You will see an online preview (representation) of your message before it is sent, and we highly recommend that you send yourself a test email through WEBS.  top

What are the legal issues surrounding email broadcasting?
The FCC and the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) also have established regulations regarding the transmitting of commercial email, referred to as the “CAN-SPAM Act.” For additional information about CAN-SPAM see: www.fcc.gov and www.ftc.gov/spam top

Fax-to-Email Service

What do I need in order to use your Fax-to-Email Service?
All you need to use Slingshot’s Fax-to-Email service is internet access and an email account. There is no need for any additional hardware or software.  top

Do I need to commit to any long term contracts?
No. There is no long term contract to sign. We offer two billing options for your convenience. You can choose the plan that is right for you. Sign up for our convenient month to month plan, or you can select our annual plan and receive further discounted rates.  top

Can I receive faxes anywhere?
Using Fax-to-Email enables you to receive your faxes from virtually anywhere. All you need is internet access and an email account. Receive your faxes in digital format anywhere you access your email.  top

Can I get a toll-free number for my fax to email account?
Unlike other companies, Slingshot provides only toll-free numbers for our Fax-to-Email service. We provide personal toll-free Fax-to-Email numbers at the pricing that other companies charge for local numbers which means that the individual sending you a fax will not pay any toll or long distance charges.  top

Can I use my current fax number?
Yes, you can use your existing fax number. Just contact your existing phone provider and they can Remote Call Forward your existing fax number to your toll-free personal Slingshot Fax-to-Email number.  top

What happens if I receive multiple faxes at one time? Will my customers get a busy signal?
No. By using our Fax-to-Email service you never have to worry about your customers receiving a busy signal when trying to fax you important information. You can receive multiple faxes simultaneously. Your personal Fax-to-Email number is always on and will NEVER be busy.  top

Can I forward my faxes?
Yes. Slingshot’s Fax-to-Email service allows you to view, print, save and forward your faxes just like email - right from your desktop.  top

Do you provide corporate discounts?

Fax-on-Demand

How does Fax-on-Demand Work?
With Slingshot’s Fax-on-Demand service any document in your company’s digital library is just a phone call away. Slingshot will provide you with a unique Fax-on-Demand toll-free number for your users/customers to call. Callers simply dial your toll free number and follow your custom voice prompts to select the document(s) they need. Our Fax-on-Demand service will then send the document(s) to the fax number they provided. Customers, prospects, and staff can access product, support or any information they need from your company’s digital library 24 hours a day.  top

How do I administer the documents available on the Fax-on-Demand System?
Email new documents or revised documents to Slingshot’s technical department and they will be uploaded into your Fax-on-Demand company library.  top

What reporting options are available for my Fax-on-Demand service?
Slingshot provides detailed monthly reporting of your Fax-on-Demand service including a Document Summary Report – detailing which documents have been retrieved from the system and the number of times each document has been retrieved as well as a monthly usage report detailing all inbound calls to your system as well as all out bound deliveries including the fax number that your documents were delivered to.  top

What if the number that is receiving my information is busy?
If the Fax-on-Demand system cannot deliver you documents on the first attempt we will attempt to retry any failed delivery at least 3 times in order to increase the potential deliverability of documents.  top
